I like the way the council met and addressed one another with respect. Everyone's contribution to the meeting valued. They did not interrupt each other. At the end of the meeting, the leader said 'It's easy to become confused by these questions. It's hard to know what to do. We should talk about this some more. That is all I have to say." and then the meeting was adjourned. There was no dissent and rather than rushing to attack someone who had presented no immediate threat, they chose to sleep on it and think about their options. I think this is a good example of an inquiry based approach to decision-making. Sunday, February 12, 2012
Sioux Council from Dances with Wolves and Inquiry Based Decision-Making
